Identification Tips:

While sulfur crystals do exist (left), the samples you will see in class are 'rolled sulfur' (right) which does not
show cleavage. Rolled sulfur fractures. It is easily identified by it's bright yellow color and by it's characteristic
smell. When doing a mineral ID lab be sure to smell the sulfur so you will be able to identify it should it
appear on the practical in June.
